Soy featured in USTMA’s first U.S. industry sustainability report

Soy is featured in the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association’s (USTMA) first U.S. industry sustainability report that shares how Goodyear as well as Bridgestone use soy as a sustainable material to manufacture their tires. Released on January 30, 2019, the report highlights how Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company received the prestigious Tire Technology International Award for Innovation and Excellence in the category of ‘Environmental Achievement of the Year’ at the 2018 Tire Technology Expo in Germany. USB has worked closely with Goodyear’s research team on the soy-based tire and continues to work with Goodyear to create customer demand for the tires. The USTMA report also shares how Bridgestone uses soybean oil to manufacture Firestone brand agriculture tires that are 10 percent soybean oil.
