The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has debuted 16 new sizes of tires that contain soy for the Eagle Exhilarate™, Goodyear’s premium ultra-high-performance, all-season tire.

“The United Soybean Board (USB) applauds the roll out of more tires with soy and Goodyear’s partnership with U.S. soybean farmers,” said Ed Lammers, USB Farmer-Director from Hartington, Neb. “America’s drivers and farmers both win through USB’s checkoff investments with Goodyear that continue to yield more tires made with U.S. Soy that also reduce carbon.”

The Eagle Exhilarate is one of four lines of tires that Goodyear makes with soy. With the addition of the 16 new sizes, the Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate is now available in a total of 52 sizes, ranging from 17 to 22-inch rim diameters. Popular vehicles that Eagle Exhilarate tires will now fit include the Acura TLX, Audi A5 and RS5, BMW 3-Series and X5, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette, Dodge Challenger and Charger, Ford Mustang, Infiniti Q50, Mercedes E-Class, Porsche 911 and Volvo S60.

The use of soybean oil in tires is a significant Goodyear innovation that helps keep a tire’s rubber compound pliable in changing temperatures. USB collaborated on research with Goodyear that created a breakthrough for the use of renewable soybean oil as well as performance. This research found the use of soybean oil could improve the functionality of tires in colder temperatures and across wet surfaces.

According to Goodyear, leveraging the unique properties of soybean oil has been a significant innovation for sustainability.

Goodyear’s cooperation with USB has helped lead the way to these four lines of commercially available Goodyear tires containing soybean oil.
