Mr. Phillip W. Grone, Deputy Undersecretary of Defense (Installations & Environment). Mr. Grone provides welcoming comments and introductions. (3:50).

The Honorable Gordon England, Deputy Secretary of Defense. The Secretary says the Department of Defense is the largest buyer of products in the Federal Government and therefore they have a responsibility to be the leader and set the standards. He says biobased products are an essential element of the Department's green strategy and are important to our national security. He also says they often work better than the alternatives and are often less expensive. (6:30).

The Honorable Mike Johanns, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Secretary Johanns says reducing our dependence of fossil fuels is essential. He says the development of biobased products creates jobs and spurs economic growth in rural America. (6:54).

Senator Thomas Harkin, (D-Iowa). Senator Harkin says that not only is the Department of Defense doing its part to move to biobased product procurement but so is the U. S. Congress. He says that we're beyond the point of envisioning a bio-economy and that the exhibits here are building it. (6:46).

Senator Richard Lugar, (R-Indiana). Senator Lugar says that our future security will depend on, not only a strong Department of Defense, but also a reduction in the reliance on foreign sources of oil and the development of home grown biobased fuel and other products. (4:17).

Representative Marcy Kaptur, (D-Ohio). Representative Kaptur says that the heartland of America has a better way. She says that renewable energy sources being developed in states like Ohio, Indiana and Iowa can reduce our dependence on foreign oil. (5:41).

Tom Brown, United Soybean Board Director, soybean grower from Ohio. Tom talks about the value of soy-based bioproducts. (2 min).

Dale Profit, Ohio Soybean Council, soybean grower from Ohio. Dale says that the biobased products on display here are environmentally friendly. (3 min).

Tom Gandolfi, Advanced Image Resources. Tom talks about his company’s patented biotoner for copiers. (3 min).

John Jansen, VP, Product & Process Development, Bunge Oils. John describes a biobased hydraulic fluid for elevators. (2 min).

Luis del Valle, Dir. of Marketing, Cargill, Industrial Oils & Lubricants. Luis discusses a variety of biobased products from Cargill and says that many of them have been around long enough to prove their value. (3 min).

Josh Hutchinson, Director of Government Relations, Biobased Systems. Josh describes how his company can work with a purchasing agent and manufacturer to have products like foam insulation made from bio products. (2 min).

Grant Grable, President, Green Products. Grant says he's showing an environmental liquid membrane system which is a soy-based waterproofing and roofing system. (2 min).

Shane Cox, SoyBase. Shane talks about his company’s product, SoyBase, which is used by the tire industry for their automatic floor scrubbers used on concrete floors. (3 min).

Jacqueline L. Garmier, President, Renewable Lubricants. Jacqueline talks about the variety of lubricant products her company produces which even includes a spray lubricant as well as others. (3 min).

Erin O'Driscoll, Market Development Manager, Dow Chemical. Erin talks about soybean oil based polyols for polyurethane foam applications. (2 min).
